Quilting
The quilts that are made are donated to charities in need.

WI Valley Fair Stand
This is a popular food stand at the fair which serves homestyle meals. Money raised from the stand is then divided among local charities.

Baked Goods
When called upon, members of the church donate baked goods for events at church and throughout the community.

Dinner & Funeral Servers
These dedicated volunteers help families in need to enjoy a good meal together in a difficult time.

Office Helpers
Office helpers serve the church by lending a hand to complete the multitude of tasks it takes to keep a church going.

Church Cleaning
In spring and fall, the church gets a deep cleaning to continue to be a welcoming place for all.

Treasure Sale Worker
The treasure sale is an annual summer event that draws community members from all over. To help it run smoothly, many volunteers are needed.

Food Pantry
First English Lutheran Church maintains a small food pantry which is made available to any community member in need.

Coffee Hour Host
Provide snacks or a dessert as well as prepares coffee for members to socialize after the service.

Community Supper
First English Lutheran Church members sign up to host and serve dinner at the local community suppers held at First United Methodist Church in downtown Wausau.

Change Altar Paraments
Each season of the church calendar requires different altar cloths and decor.

Sacramental Visitor
These visitors take and serve communion to members who are unable to worship at church.

Shepherds (Hospital Visitors)
This team ov volunteers pay a visit to friends and family of members who are in the hospital to share God's love during their recovery.

Lector
Reads the first and second readings and the Psalm during the worship service.

Acolyte
Lights the candles, collects the offering, helps communion servers during the service, snuff the candles at the end of the service and leads recessional at the end of the service.

Communion Server
Assists with serving communion. Holds the tray of prefilled cups. Says, "The blood of Christ shed for you," as communicants come forward.

Communion Set Up
Prepares the communion cups before the church service and sets out the wafers. Gluten free wafers must be kept on a separate plate.

Communion Washer
Washes the communion cups after the church service. Left over communion cups of wine should be covered and stored in the mini refridgerator in the sacristy.

Greeter
Welcomes individuals as they enter the church before the service.

Usher
Hands out bulletins, passes the collection plate, releases pews to participate in communion. After the service, check the pews for garbage and lost items and makes sure the hymnals are stored correctly.

Assisting Minister
Assist the pastor with the Sunday morning service and serve communion. The pastor will provide instructions on what other help is needed.

Worship & Music Committee
This committee works to ensure members have a meaningful time in worship.

Parish Education & Youth Committee
This group of volunteers oversee Sunday School and all of the youth activities.

Stewardship Committee
We are called to be good stewards for others as we share God's love. This committee coordinates the many volunteers needed.

Church in Society Committee
This committee's goal is to keep First English Lutheran Church involved in the local community.

Property Committee
This group works hard to maintain the church's property making is a safe and comfortable place to worship.

Fair Stand Committee
This seasonal committee organizes the church's food stand at the WI Valley Fair.

Treasure Sale Committee
This group organizes the annual treasure sale to make sure those in need have access to what they need.

Men About Church
This is a group who volunteers their time and talents to help the property committee to both maintain the building but also is happy to help out wherever they can.

This group of elected members serves as the governing body of the church - helping to guide it in its mission.

This committee is a group of elected members to oversee the church's endowment fund to ensure both financial stability and generosity in the community.
